King Charles III accepts patronage of the Royal College

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada recently received a letter from Buckingham Palace confirming King Charles III has accepted the patronage of the Royal College.

Royal Patronage was granted following a review of all patronages previously held by the late Queen Elizabeth II. The Royal College was first granted patronage by King George V in 1929, and most recently by Queen Elizabeth II.

Members of the Royal Family serve as patrons of over 3,000 charities, military associations, professional bodies and public service organizations across the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and wider world.

Quote from Brian Hodges, MD, FRCPC, PhD, President, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

“As a non-profit organization dedicated to helping our members deliver the best health care for all, we are honoured that King Charles III accepted patronage of the Royal College. We are incredibly proud of our association to our sister colleges throughout the Commonwealth.”
