Gordon Richard Grahame, MD, FRCPC, died on March 28, 2024, in Winnipeg, Man., at age 91. Dr. Grahame was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine in 1963. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Manitoba in 1957. Throughout his career as a general internist, Dr. Grahame worked in London, U.K. and Birmingham, Ala., before returning to Winnipeg where he worked at St. Boniface Hospital, Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Medicine. Adolfo Sanchez, MD, FRCPC, died on March 15, 2024, in Toronto, Ont., at age 90. Dr. Sanchez was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1967. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Valladolid in Spain in 1958. An accomplished and well-respected psychiatrist, Dr. Sanchez worked until his retirement at 85. Gerald Allan Fulton, MD, FRCPC, died on March 20, 2024, in St. Catharines, Ont., at age 86. Dr. Fulton was certified by the Royal College in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 1969. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1963. A dedicated specialist, Dr. Fulton enjoyed a long career. Read more about Dr. Fulton

Randall John Rogalsky, MD, FRCSC, died on Nov. 25, 2023, in Godfrey, Ill., at age 68. Dr. Rogalsky was certified by the Royal College in Orthopedic Surgery in 1986. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Manitoba in 1980. For 36 years, Dr. Rogalsky worked at Alton MultiSpecialists, serving the communities of Riverbend and beyond. He held several leadership positions throughout his career, including president of Alton MultiSpecialists, chair of the Alton Memorial Hospital Medical Staff and chair of the Alton Memorial Hospital Department of Surgery. Manon Charbonneau, MD, FRCPC, died on Jan. 22, 2024, in Sept-Îles, Que., at age 61. Dr. Charbonneau was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1990. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Montreal in 1986. For over 30 years, Dr. Charbonneau practised as a psychiatrist in Sept-Îles, treating both adult and pediatric patients in hospitals and in private practice clinics. Dr. Charbonneau was involved in resident training as a Competence by Design Observer for Psychiatry. She also promoted mental health within First Nations communities on the North Shore and advocated against mental health stigma. Read more about Dr. Charbonneau

Philip Boll, MD, FRCPC, died on March 24, 2024, in Mississauga, Ont., at age 54. Dr. Boll was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine (2006) and Nephrology (2007). He obtained his medical degree from Dalhousie University in 2002. Dr. Boll worked as a nephrologist at Trillium Health Partners where he also held leadership roles. He served as the Ontario Renal Network’s provincial medical lead for home and community-based care and volunteered with the Royal College as a member on the Adult Glomerular Diseases Area of Focused Competence Committee. Kam Seng Tse, MD, FRCPC, died on April 12, 2023, in Vancouver, B.C., at age 86. Dr. Tse was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine (1970) and Clinical Immunology (1975). He obtained his medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1961. Remembered as a mentor, Dr. Tse worked as an allergist and immunologist in Vancouver. He also held the position of associate professor and clinical head of Immunology at the University of Manitoba. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a general practitioner in Cranbrook, B.C. Roger M.J. Roberge, MD, FRCSC, died on Jan. 25, 2023, in Riverview, N.B., at age 83. Dr. Roberge was certified by the Royal College in General Surgery in 1971. He obtained his medical degree from Laval University in 1965. Dr. Roberge had a successful career as a surgeon spanning over 40 years during which he practised in northern New Brunswick and Moncton. He also served as president of the New Brunswick Medical Association. Dr. Roberge was passionate about and known for his work on the early detection and prevention of breast cancer. John Michael Whelan, MBBS, FRCPC, died on April 4, 2024, in Vancouver, B.C., at age 80. Dr. Whelan was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1974. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Ireland, University College of Dublin in 1967. Dr. Whelan practised as a psychiatrist until his retirement, first at Shaughnessy Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital. Then, for nearly 30 years, he worked as a clinical professor of Psychiatry at Vancouver General Hospital. Read more about Dr. Whelan

Chao Tai, MBBS, FRCPC, died on Sept. 29, 2023, in Edmonton, Alta., at age 78. Dr. Tai was certified by the Royal College in Neurology in 1977. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1969. Dr. Tai completed his residency in Ottawa, Ont., and then practised as a neurologist in Regina, Sask., and Edmonton throughout his career. He is remembered by patients as a wonderful neurologist. Kimberley Nix, MD, FRCPC, died on May 8, 2024, in Calgary, Alta, at age 31. Dr. Nix was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine in 2022. She obtained her medical degree from Dalhousie University in 2018. Dr. Nix completed her residency in Calgary and was pursuing a master’s degree in Epidemiology. She is fondly remembered by friends and family as a hardworking, warm and compassionate person. Read more about Dr. Nix

Angus William Beck, MD, FRCPC, died on May 8, 2024, in Charlottetown, P.E.I., at age 72. Dr. Beck was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1984. He obtained his medical degree from Dalhousie University in 1980. For over 40 years, Dr. Beck practised as a psychiatrist, providing care for the community across Prince Edward Island. Glen John Ankenman, MD/CM, FRCSC, died on Nov. 6, 2022, in Vancouver, B.C., at age 97. Dr. Ankenman was certified by the Royal College in Urology in 1957. He obtained his medical degree from Queen’s University in 1949. Dr. Ankenman began his medical career with a family practice on Saltspring Island in B.C. Following his certification in Urology, he joined the staff of Shaughnessy Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital. He was head of Urological Sciences at the University of British Columbia Hospital and throughout his career, he taught many exceptional Urology residents. Read more about Dr. Ankenman
