The much-anticipated replacement to MAINPORT – My MOC – launched on August 8, 2024. The platform is accessible through “My Portal,” and the Royal College website. My MOC is a secure, simple and mobile-friendly platform, designed with member feedback to improve your experience when entering your learning activities.
As part of the transition to the new platform, your cycle was maintained and your learning credits were automatically transferred and applied to the reduced credit requirements now in effect as part of the refreshed Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program and Framework. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to explore and become familiar with details about the refresh.
Here are the improvements you will see in My MOC:
Is there a mobile app for My MOC?
My MOC is now a responsive, mobile-friendly design, so a separate app is no longer necessary. Using My MOC on your mobile devices improves your access to all functionalities available through the desktop version (e.g., activity entry, edit/delete an activity, report downloads, etc.). Bonus: the new platform has one login only – so apps across multiple devices aren’t needed.
If you still have the MAINPORT app on your device, please delete it as you can no longer record credits using the app nor will they be applied to your MOC cycle. Watch this short orientation video to learn how to save My MOC on mobile or desktop for quick access.
In My MOC, what is the Activities Requiring Action section?
Activities Requiring Action (formerly My Holding Area) displays activities that need additional information from you before MOC credits can be applied to your credit summary.
You will find three types of activities that require action in this section:
Visit My MOC/Tools and Resources for a quick overview of how to enter and review activity data.
Is there a timeline for the Collège des médecins du Québec (CMQ) data transfer?
We are working closely with the CMQ to identify how to convert MOC credits into CMQ hours for the new eligible activities. Information on how MOC credits for new MOC activities can convert to CMQ hours will be available on our website later this fall.
Your MOC cycle will be updated to realign with the CMQ’s next five-year cycle (January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2028) to ease the administration of reporting to both systems. The cycle update will also take place later this fall. You will see this change when you log in to record your MOC credits and we will also notify you by email with details on how to transfer credits.
We hope you have a positive experience entering your learning activities into My MOC, but if you haven’t logged in yet, here are a few pieces of feedback from members who have already given it a try!
We’ve also heard that there are elements that aren't working as well as they could, and we're focused on making improvements. Your feedback is essential in helping us enhance the platform and we welcome your thoughts as we continue to make meaningful updates to improve your experience.
We have also launched My Learning, the first iteration of the new, secure learning experience platform featuring a consolidation of Royal College instructor-led and self-study courses. In the next couple of months, members will be able to access curated content aligned with our strategic themes with the launch of channels. Future enhancements will allow members to discover, connect and share learning opportunities with each other through different channels and eventually through online communities.
Watch a short introductory video to explore the platform’s features, and browse the learning activities currently available.
Our digital transformation this summer also included the launch of My Portal: a personalized, secure dashboard that allows you to access your profile, transactions, and more. We also modernized royalcollege.ca to include improved website design, navigation and content.
We are happy to help and receive your comments on how we can make improvements! Contact us through the Royal College Services Centre at 1-800-461-9598 or 613-730-6243 or by email at cpd@royalcollege.ca, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
